CHAKRA SIX (THIRD EYE)

Chakra six is located at your carotid plexus nerve ganglion. This is between your eyebrows and just a little above them. The elemental correspondence here is light because it is here that your conscious meets you unconscious and you start to become aware, were you begin to truly see and begin to become truly aware.  The color here is indigo and the root Sanskrit word means “to know, to command” and this is where you begin to perceive and learn to translate and process all visual input. You learn to use your ESP (that little voice that tells you to do or not to do something)  and where where you refine your imagination.

You discover that you have a greater access to the Universal “well of wisdom” and learn to be comfortable accepting information based on faith and intuition rather than on charts and graphs. You realize that intuition just is...there is no right or wrong, no logical or illogical.

If maturation, healing and growth have occurred you know and understand the balance of all things; light and dark, yin and yang, want and need. You can see, without prejudice, things as they really are. You see beyond the limits of either / or and you see that you have infinite choices.

You know you are out of balance if you are too influenced by the psychic realm. If your energy is too high you come across as disconnected or spacey. If you energy is too low, you will be narrow minded, uncomfortable with challenges and have tunnel vision.

At chakra six you will be able to access other information and see how everything comes from ancient wisdom. The important thing here in how well you see, not just what you see. You can look as well as see. As you open here you realize how much you truly do see.

When you are in balance you will use your new information and innate wisdom to raise your vibrations in order to be able to make decisions with your new mind-stream and informed visualizations. With them you will be able to make a positive and informed choices that will have an impact on your surroundings rather than making choices from fear and ego. Because of this ability and view point you uplift the quality of life for yourself and others. You know you are in balance when you can process and translate you visual and intuitive information and use it correctly and effectively.

The goal of your sixth chakra is to suspend your personal perceptions so that you are able to allow yourself to to envision those of another in order to understand what others see. It is also the goal here to realize self clarity so that you are closer to being completely conscious and totally aware.

TO RECAP;
chakra six is located between your eyebrows, your carotid plexus (c1-2)
it is your connection to the Universe and your intuitive wisdom
your personal insight
you now see the deepest beauty and truth in all things
where your conscious meets your unconscious

IN YOUR PHYSICALITY;
regulates your hormones and physiology
chakra six controls your brain, your left eye, your nervous system and your ears, pineal and pituitary glands

ISSUES HERE:
intuition, wisdom, creative intelligence
the meeting of your conscious and your unconscious can be VERY unsettling
learning to use your imagination, insight and other information in a positive and uplifting manner.
Feelings of narrow mindedness or spacey-ness

BLOCKED BY the illusion of separateness

UNBLOCKED BY accepting the cosmic truth that all is one.

CHAKRA FIVE (THROAT)

Chakra five is located at your pharyngeal plexus and is your place of self expression. Its elemental correspondence is ether but here I will use sound because the vocal apparatus is in its pervue. The color is bright blue. The Sanskrit root word means to purify.

The job here is communication; both verbal and nonverbal. At this level you begin to exercise your creativity in your communication skills. This include effective listening. Effective listening is to consciously and with awareness, pay attention to what the other person is saying to you, to really hear them. You also realize that each person comes at life from their own personal experiences of life and that their experiences are not the same as yours.

This is where you realize that communication is actually an extension of consciousness. You use sound, rhythm and vibrations to form words. Communication is a connecting principal that makes life as you know it possible. Just as your body uses DNA and nerve impulses, and your brain uses chemicals and hormones to operate the microcosm of your body,  broadcast waves join the global community into a functioning unit of information. Correct and conscious communication, both within and without, is crucial to your well being and understanding of life.

When you are out of balance in your fifth chakra you will talk too much or too little, you will not listen to others, you seem arrogant and self righteous and you have no use for the opinions of  those around you.

Words are your most powerful tools. With the great power to use them comes the great responsibility of that use. If you give  out incorrect information, you can do damage. Do you remember the gossip game from when you were a child? Someone would whisper a statement to the person next to them and the participants would repeat what they thought they heard and the results were usually funny. Not so in life so keep this in mind and think before you speak.

When you are in balance here, you are considered thoughtful in your communications, you are able to express your needs and desires without being demeaning or whiny. You can express your truth without hurting others and without shame or fear. You know you are in balance when you can truly hear another person and express your truth without judgment or shame.

The goal of chakra five is to communicate ideas and abstract concepts in a way that is easily understood by others; to give out information that can manifest creations on a physical plane so to give order to your universe.

TO RECAP;
located at your throat, your pharyngeal plexus (C3-7)
it is your self expression
your ability to communicate your heart's truth
you ability to communicate your core values
it is the bridge that connects your intellect with your senses

IN YOUR PHYSICALITY;
you thyroid/parathyroid
metabolism and calcium regulation
this chakra holds your vocal and bronchial apparatus; lungs; ears; hands; ears; arms; neck; bones and teeth

ISSUES OF THIS CHAKRA; your expression and communication of your own creativity, needs and desires, your personal integrity, and you ability to actively listen and understand and your non-verbal communications.

BLOCKED; by lies you tell yourself

UNBLOCKED; by being OK with yourself as you are, your ability to change what YOU feel you want to change and to genuinely love yourself.

CHAKRA FOUR (HEART)

Chakra four  is located at your heart. Just as your cardiac plexus nerve ganglion feeds your physical heart, your forth chakra feeds you energetic/spiritual heart. The elemental correspondence here is air. This is because movement from physicality and manifestation into more esoteric areas of spirit occur here at the midpoint in your chakra spectrum.

This is the point where your lower three (1,2 &3) chakras rise to meet your upper three (5,6 &7) chakras to become tempered and balanced. Here is where you achieve a feeling of wholeness and balance. With this balance a radiance begins to shines out to all around you. This radiance creates a  permanence and magnifies it so that it permeates all existence.

The color here is green and the Sanskrit root-word means “sound made without any 2 things striking”, “unstruck” “fresh” “clean”

The job of your fourth chakra is to create the binding force of love. This comes from the logical progression of mass at chakra 1 + movement at chakra 2 = attraction at chakra 3 that creates love. Not a love driven by need, want or manipulation, but the free, joyous acceptance of your self and of all things. Your ability to see people moving in harmony with one another is reflected in this type of love. This love can allow others to grow at their own rate, it then allows you to reach out to others without losing your center or judging others by your standards. When you can see all occurrences as your “next best thing”through the unconditional love of the fourth chakra, you will feel bliss.

If you are not in balance here you will be judgmental and manipulative, you will attempt to control others and the subjugation of another's truth is important to you. You want to make/force them to see things your way.

When you can learn to take all things less seriously, just know yourself without letting another take your power, you will begin to see the difference between “control of” and “control over.” Your balance here means the tempering of your lower chakras with the unconditional love of chakra four.  You will begin seeing changes in beautiful ways. You know you are in balance when you no longer feel the pull of the lower chakras and realize you create your own reality and that you can and do influence others.

The goal of chakra four is to realize unconditional love for others and your self, to exercise tolerance and balance within your body, mind, spirit system, to realize the divine paradox that what seems very small is really very large and what seems to be very large is really very small, and to allow things to be what they are.

RECAP;
located at your heart-cardiac plexus (T1-5) ,is your bridge between imminent and transcendent spirit and love
is your ability to share love and life with others.

PHYSICALITY: Blood pressure and circulatory system, hands, arms and shoulders, it is your Electromagnetic Field Generator, and your immune system

ISSUES: consideration of others, empathy for others, the linking of your intellectual and spiritual selves, how to use your will, your ability to direct love to yourself and to others, your inner peace, your ability to give and receive love

BLOCKED BY : grief

UNBLOCKED BY: accepting  that love is energy that is always around you and is never lost. This is  because it is always born again as new loves.

CHAKRA THREE (SOLAR PLEXUS)

Chakra three is located between your sternum and your navel, at your solar plexus and it is called the seat of your will. This is where your body handles combustion and metabolism. The elemental correspondence is fire. Fire transforms matter (chakra 1) and movement (chakra2) to action energy and power (new state) in chakra three. The color that vibrates here is a bright sunny yellow and the Sanskrit word means lustrous gem.

The job of this chakra is to develop your power to stand by your convictions and forge unique states of existence. It does this because of the how it acts on chakras 1 and 2 to raise their energies into new dimensions. This action causes changes within you. Much like wood (matter), when acted upon by movement/heat,  is transformed into a new substance, in this case ash.

 Here is where your inner critic lives and it will often times yell at you, making you either doubt your self or feel very confident. Here is your self worth, your self reliance. This is where your seat of personal power is developed. Your focus changes once again from just you and one other to become more open to the opinions and points of view of others. It is at this level you also begin examine different power concepts and you learn the difference between the “power to” and the “power over”.

If you are out of balance here you may be overly sensitive about perceived reactions of others, you may appear indifferent or cold, you may feel you need the opinions of others to support your ideas. You may be over critical of yourself; feel inadequate, have a feeling of self loathing or you may feel unworthy of love. Your inner self is attentive and believes everything both positive and negative, it has no filters so your body reacts instantly to all criticism, both good and bad. This is not good for you.

When you are in balance  in chakra three, you can accept the responsibilities that are truly yours, you are confident in your own actions and abilities, you can chose how you maintain your course of action and you do NOT need the approval of others. You have courage and strength to be truly who and what you are. You can act without overpowering others or allowing them to overpower you.

The goal here is to create a new understanding of the viewpoints of others, collect new information that will bring you dawning enlightenment and shifting paradigms. Here is where you learn the importance of balance. You become aware of the larger patterns of universal consciousness. You become aware of  the how the combining of your mind and action that are driven by your conscious aware choices create your will. You will be able to stop undesired actions and create new and better ones by making better choices.

TO RECAP:
located between your sternum and navel at your solar plexus ( T5-T9 Solar Plexus)
It is your solar power, your uniqueness,  your I AM, the seat of your will

PHYSICALITY:
Pancreas
controls your digestive system, your middle spine, assimilation and muscles.

ISSUES:
personal power (where do you allow it to be?) Your sense of your place in the world, your self confidence, your self esteem and your ability to stand by your convictions.

BLOCKED BY: shame and disappointment in your self

UNBLOCKED BY:  accepting your shortcomings and forgiving yourself

CHAKRA TWO (SACRAL

Chakra two is located between your navel and your internal reproductive organs organs. It corresponds to the sacral vertebrae nerve ganglion at your sacral plexus. Your sciatic nerve is attached here. This is your center of motion, your sea of life.

Water is the element of chakra two because all of your liquid functions are its job. Circulation, urinary elimination, sexuality and reproduction. This is also the seat of your emotions. The color of this Chakra is orange. The name of this Chakra comes form the Sanskrit word meaning “to sweeten”.

The job of this Chakra is to move you from the survival mode in Chakra 1 to acknowledging other people in your life. You became independent as you developed your personal strength and became self sufficient. Now you understand that within your “Self” there must be an awareness of others. This awareness is now on new levels of balancing separateness with being with others. You want to meet others to stimulate questions. Questions create the desire to learn; Desire to learn creates action; Action creates vitality and growth through movement; Movement creates new levels of power and love.

An adult is about  70% water. That makes you a tidal being. Emotions move like water so this Chakra has subtle qualities of its own. Desires ebb and flow, creating a duality that is important for motivating movement and change. They create the longing to learn, to reach out to absorb and share knowledge.

When you are out of balance here your desires become needs born of pain, tension and estrangement. This comes from parts of you that you have let go or repressed. This causes you to look outside yourself for something that will make you stop feeling or start feeling something. You push away the support of others and turn toward an outside method/substance and become attached to the method hoping that next time it will work (like smoking, sex, drugs, drinking)

Flexibility and fluidity in your desires is good. Remember that the FORM of the desire is not as important as the FORCE of the desire. Force is the root of passion; Passion is the growth toward power and understanding.

Because desires move like water, when they are blocked, they build up pressure and they will manifest in another way. If they are thwarted, you may become ill or develop and addiction or act out in a dangerous way.

When you are balanced here, you know that pleasure is Creator given and is essential to insuring the health and harmony of the body with NO shame or guilt.

The goal of Chakra two is movement. Pleasure is the root of desire and the rejuvenator of Spirit. It also   acts as the healer of personal and cultural relationships. Desire is the seed of movement and they build on each other to keep us whole and balanced. We know we are balanced when we feel that “All is well, situation resolved.” and we can turn our attention to other things.

RECAP;
is located between your navel and your internal reproductive organs. ( T9-L4 lumbar plexus)
Connection; to the lunar cycle, your wisdom and creativity and fertility

PHYSICALITY;
affects your lower vertebrae, pelvis, bladder and hips, sexual functions, elimination, water regulation

ISSUES;
change, emotional balance, ability to see beauty in your own creations and the satisfaction  of your own desires (sexuality and procreation)

BLOCKED BY; guilt

UNBLOCKED BY;
accepting that you make mistakes and not allowing them to cloud your mind or poison your energy and FORGIVE (the other person AND yourself)

CHAKRA ONE (BASE OR ROOT)

Your first chakra is located at the base of your spine. It corresponds to your coccyx bone and your coccygeal plexus,  the lowest nerve bundle in your body. Each chakra has an elemental correspondence and this one is Earth because it represents form, stability and your most concentrated state of matter so it is at the lowest end of your chakra spectrum. Visualize this chakra in a deep vibrant red. Red is the color of beginning, the color of life. It is also the color with the longest wave length in the human spectrum of sight.

The Sanskrit name for this Chakra means 'root' or support. This is it's job, it is your first line of support in your energy system. Your sciatic nerve runs from this chakra area to the ground. This nerve keeps you connected to the sustaining Earth.

Here is where your survival impulses are. Things like food, shelter, clothing and the health of your physical body. Your energies must be balanced, just like everywhere else. If you are too worried about these things they dominate your life and you can't live well. You need these things to love but you can't be overly concerned about them.

When you are properly connected to Nature (the Earth, sky, seasonal changes and animals) you will be more balanced in all of your life. You still have these issues, enough money to buy what you need, a job to make the money you require, and a way to get to the places you need to get to. All of these issues are here in your first chakra.

If you are out of balance here you can get sick, feel spacey, depressed, or too attached to 'things' of the physical world, (being a hoarder, or shop too much)

You know you are balanced here when all of your basic needs are comfortably met and you aren't worried about your survival and you feel that all is right in your world.

The goal of chakra one is to make you consciously aware of what is going on in your body so you know when something is "off" and when it is right. It is also to make you aware that the physical world is not your goal, it is a tool for you to use to learn what you were put here to learn.

RECAP;
your adrenals
located at the base of your spine (L5-S5 lumbar and coccygeal plexus)
is your first connection toward Spirit
is your at home on earth
is your security and survival

PHYSICALITY;
it covers your spine, feet, Immune system and skeleton

ISSUES;
survival, physical needs, tribal associations

BLOCKED BY; fear

UNBLOCKED BY; surrendering your fears to the flow of Universal Energy.

What are Your Chakras and What Can They Do For You

Chakras are wheels of energy that are located along your physical spine. Like your nerves and blood vessels feed your physical body, your chakras feed your energetic body. For them to do this efficiently they should be aligned and free spinning. You keep them that way by your awareness of them and how they feel when they are misaligned or blocked.

What misalignes them? Stress is the biggest factor. You hear of “good stress” and “bad stress” but the truth of the matter is that stress is stress, there is no good or bad. Your idea and notion about whether it is good or bad can and does add to the intensity so you may want to consider changing you paradigm around this subject. A neutral attitude about stress will make it easier for you to detach your emotions about  the subject that is stressing you and allow you to calm down, thus helping lower the stress.

As you learn more about these wonderful things in your body/mind system the more fascinating they become. They can let you know something is amiss before you feel bad or sick. They can give you guidance about whether a food or product is beneficial to you before you buy it. As you become more adept at using your energetic system you will be able to make better judgments and choices that impact your life.

In this series of articles, I will tell you a bit about each chakra area, what it affects and other information about it. The series will begin with the first chakra and rise to the seventh. IN MEMORIAL REMEMBRANCE AND IN GRATITUDE

In  December,1977 my two children and I took a trip from Virginia to Mississippi on a well known bus line. My daughter was about four and my son was around six. We were going down to visit my maternal grandparents for the Christmas Holiday, the children's father had to work and could not go with us, so was sending us on the bus.

The children had out grown every thing they had that year so I had spent many hours at the sewing machine making new clothes for them for Christmas presents. The Shipyard where their father worked had been on strike for a while and money was excruciatingly tight so the clothes and the trip were their entire Christmas.

We were all excited about the trip, Memaw and Papaw were some of our favorite family members and we hadn't seen them in quite a while so it was a treat all the way round. On the day before we were to leave I was packing  up to go my little daughter asked me if she could take her best loved bed toy, a stuffed mouse she had named Bripe-eyes. She was trying to say Bright-eyes but being so little her words were still baby sweet and expressive. I explained that it would be alright if she put her doll in her suit case so she would not get left behind and lost. After much discussion, she acquiesced and the Bripe-eyes went into the suitcase with all the new clothes.

We ended up with two suit cases, one for me and one for the children. Off to the bus station we went, hopes and expectations high and excitement off the charts! Goodbyes were said, hugs all round, onto the bus and away we went. We were leaving from the city of Newport News in Virginia. Our route took us north to the capitol city of Richmond, this was about eighty some miles in the opposite direction  of our destination...I begin to think this might not be the best trip ever, but, I held out hope.

By the time we were on the road thirty minutes,my doubts became reality, my son had developed the worst case of motion sickness I have ever seen in my life. We were sitting about half way back and his mad-dash trips to the bathroom were beginning to wear out the carpet. In Richmond we would change buses and head south. When we finally got to the depot for the change over, I was able to ask the driver if, because of the severity of the motion sickness, we could sit behind him. This positioned the child’s head in the path of the air leak from the door giving him fresh air that stopped the throwing up. He was still quite ill and weak from it so was having to be carried while I tried to keep a hand hold on the busy, nosy four year old. We got permission for the desired location and, with a sick little rag doll head in my lap and a squirmy anxious seat partner, off we went again.

The remainder of our trip was a series of bus changes, waiting in terminals of dubious and smelly nature, more throwing up (remember the smelly part) questions (mostly in ringing whispers and of an embarrassing nature) about the patrons around us, awful food from vending machines, if one dared, and forcing ourselves to get on the next bus. Every one required the talk with the driver about the air from the door to alleviate the worst of  the motion sickness and , most of the time we got the seat. The kind person would nod in understanding and move. Once or twice, there was someone who had an affinity for  the seat and would not move. When the vomit made an appearance, they changed their mind. On one bus that was quite full we had to sit way back in the back. There was no seat for the three of us together so the little one had to sit across the isle from us so was annoying everyone around her with questions. About ten minutes into this leg of the trip, a man sauntered past with a news paper under his arm, headed for the restroom. Really? A news paper in a bus bathroom! I said as he went past “ the boy is sick and may need to get in there suddenly.” our hero shrugged, made a rude comment and went in for his daily constitutional. After fifteen minutes my volcano began it's next eruption. He was so empty by now that there was a moment for him to jump up and bang on the door. “Wadda ya want?” was the response. “I have to throw....” and he did, bringing the man out of the lavatory and grossing out the entire bus. Luckily we were only a few miles from the next stop. As personae non gratae we had to wait to be last to get off and the word sorry lost all meaning. I was officially stressed, it was about two in the morning and thank goodness this was the last transfer.

We got off  the reeking conveyance and went into the nicest terminal yet, bright, clean, fresh, a lunch counter with food from the same century we were in and clean bathrooms. Our layover was to be about an hour and a half...relief, of sorts.

I took the children into the wash room and gave them both a bird bath in the sink, more to help my feelings than theirs but I did hope to make my little sicky not so sticky. We washed our faces and teeth and began to feel almost human again. Then to the food counter to get some ginger ale and toast into Vesuvius, hoping it was nourishment rather than a reload. I got coffee, hot strong coffee and gave squirmy something  soothing. Too soon it was time to leave.

With tears in their eyes, mine too probably, we approached the next bus. I saw our suitcases being loaded into the bottom hatches, and, just as my foot touched the bottom stair, I was stopped. “Lady, you are going on the express bus to Meridian, the white one over there.” “But our suitcases are on this bus.” I answered, I was told they would be moved.

Exhausted, worried about my son and our luggage, thinking I could not take one more thing, I turned and dragged my two little ones the length of the building to the express bus. I climbed it and began to explain the door-air thing to the driver as he sat there looking at me as though I had grown two heads.
The bus was only about half full and most of them were soldiers. People were scattered about throughout the bus so that there was no place for the three of us to sit together. There was one soldier behind the driver. The driver informed me that I should just stop my whining and sit somewhere and stop bothering him. As I stood there fighting the tears of fatigue, frustration and anger the Commanding Officer stood to attention, he was located somewhat in the center of the bus, and in his best drill instructor voice intoned, “Solder, there is a lady with a sick child a tten-hut!” the entire bus came to attention, even the civilians. “Get that seat empty you!, Bring the boy a ginger-ale! Bring the baby a blanket, Mam do you require anything? Soldier give her a pillow!”  The activity was immediate and huge. When it stopped I was comfortably seated behind the driver with a pillow for my head, a blanket was tucked in around squirmy girl, Vesuvius had a fresh cold, tummy settling soda and we were off again. I turned in my seat to say thank you but everyone was either asleep or busy with other pursuits and I was too tired to push it.

Let me explain what express bus means in these parts. The bus travels at the speed of sound and, if you  happen to be in the back seat you feel like you are on the last hair of a happy dogs tail. There are no stops, the trees go by like pickets in a fence and the roads through the swamp are like rick rack. We were doing alright in our seat behind the driver. He and I were the only two awake on the bus flying through the darkness. The only light to be seen was the occasional dim flicker from a poor hut out in the swampy woods.

As we zoomed on our way I sort of drifted in and out of awareness while staring at the face of the driver in the rear view mirror. Suddenly I was snapped out of my lethargy by the slowing of the bus. The driver's face went ghost white and we stopped all together. He jumped up, opened the door and stood there gawping at the road behind us. He turned to me and said stay there and say nothing. Yeah, right I got up to see what was wrong, so did everyone else. Windows opened and heads poked out and the gasps rippled through the passengers.  Our Commander once again barked a command an all of the soldiers got up and went to work. Spread out on the black top as far as we could see was the luggage and the continents of said luggage. The doors of the cargo space under the bus had opened and everything was out on the road. The soldiers were double timing down the road picking up everything they could carry. The passengers who were able got out and helped. I counted three trips before the driver said we had to press on.

We got to our destination by mid morning. My children's suitcase and belongings were gone,new clothes, bed doll, their whole Christmas, never to be seen again. But my point in telling you this is my memory of what those soldiers did. With grace and determination they served in a way that the regular people didn't care to do. It was a small thing, both times but it made such an impact on me that thirty five years later I am still grateful for everyone of them. I never found out any names, ranks or where they came from. I don't know where they are now or what the are doing but I so feel that they are remarkable people and on this special day of remembrance I want to say thank you for all you have done for our country and its people over the years. THANK YOU ALL!

FREQUENCIES AND YOUR HEALTH

Most of you know that frequencies are all around you all of the time but do you have any idea what they are doing to your body and its energetic field? Do you know how that will affect your health and well being? In your life journey, being consciously aware of just what is going on around, through and inside you is your best defense in creating a healthy vehicle in which to function.

Every cell in your body has its own electromagnetic signature. The healthier the cell is, the  better it communicates with the rest of your body. In his book “The Body Electric,” researcher and author Robert Becker demonstrates that our cells actually communicate with each other via bio-electrical signals and electromagnetic fields. These natural EMFs help regulate important biochemical processes of all kinds. Maintaining balance in those cellular electromagnetic fields is crucial to your physical health. Communication is key to having wellness in your biology or illness.

Your body is also surrounded by a field of bio-electrical-magnetic energy, you may have heard it called your Aura. This field is your natural protection to all manner of disrupting, harmful things that can and do make you make you sick. Not just physically ill but mentally and emotionally too. This happens because when one part of you becomes weak, the rest of your defenses try to fill in the gaps. This, in turn weakens them and you have a domino effect that is not a good situation.

Here is a graphic of a persons energy field

As you can see there are holes and spikes in the stressed bio-field that allows pollutants, toxins and disruptive energies into your biology. These disruptions get it in and cause harmful events around your cell's membranes that create biochemical changes within the cell itself. This cascades out into the areas between each cell creating physiological effects in your organs which directly affects the health of your body. Your body is easily penetrated by these frequencies so understand that they are not only around you, they are in you. In the picture of the unstressed bio-field you see that the person has a strong protective shield from which to handle life's stresses.

The United States Government tell us the anything above two mGauss (milliGauss is how these frequencies are measured) is harmful to the human body. Let's take a closer look at just what kinds of energies we exist in.

You may be wondering where these harmful Electro Magnetic Frequencies (EMFs) come from so here is a quick list to help you identify some of  them:
high voltage power lines
the lines used to bring power into your neighborhood
underground systems that protect from lightning strikes
ground fault systems that protect from faulty appliances.
OPERATING ELECRTICAL APPLINCES including;
microwave ovens
electric stoves, aquariums, table fans (10-20 mGauss output), electric space heaters
computer monitors ( 20-30 mGauss output), electric clocks and clock radios and Ipods (25-40 mGauss output), heated waterbeds
electric blankets, hair dryers (12-15 mGauss output), cellular phones (6-8 mGauss output
hair dryer (12-15 mGauss output)
computer terminal (20-30 mGauss output)
plasma TV (20-50 an LCD TV 15-30 mGauss output)

There are different classes of EMFs that can adversely affect your health:
ELF (extremely low frequencies ) these include appliances and power lines
HF and LF high and low frequencies) these include AM radio transmission
VLF (very low frequencies ) these include TVs and video display terminals
VHF (very high frequencies) these include TV and FM radio transmissions
and SHF (super high frequencies) these include microwaves

The wiring inside your home if properly done, will have background levels of low frequency EMF that  should be quite low (less than 0.3mG) However, if you have old worn or improper wiring you will have higher background EMFs. You may  find you have “hot spots” close to items such as electricity meters (especially the older rotating disc kind) main distribution panels, fuse boxes, battery-based back-up power supplies and major wiring ducts. These hotspots generally extend for about four to five feet from their source before their EMF radiation fades to background levels.

So what can you do about all of these EMFs flying around you? Some suggestions are;
1) Stay away from the sources. The strength of a magnetic field drops quickly just a few feet from the source. Do not sleep or sit for long periods of time near electrical devices, especially those with motors.
2) Stay at least  18 inches away from a video display terminal (VDT). Turn it off when you aren’t using it. Don't sit close to the back or sides of a monitor even when it is in another room or behind a partition.
3) Where it is possible, turn off or unplug your waterbed heaters and electric blankets before going to bed. Unplugging and turning these appliances off stops their electric field.
4) Stay several feet away from all sides of a television (including TVs located in another room against a wall. The wall does not stop the frequencies)
5) Don't put a  bed or crib against wall with any major appliances nearby or on the other side of the wall. Move electric clocks, clock radios, and telephone answering machines at least 4 feet away from the head of the bed.
6) Fluorescent bulbs generate stronger fields than incandescent lamps. Estimate 1 foot for incandescent bulbs and 3 feet for fluorescent lamps.
7) Try not to  use electric blankets and hair blow dryers
8) investigate the new products that block or change the EMF fields to see if they work for you. There are several out there so do some research to find the one you like the best.

To your continued health, Chessie

ARE YOU BEING MANIPULATED OR ARE YOU AN ADVERTISING SURVIVOR?

Have you gotten your flu shot to protect you from the flu bug? How worried are you about this years storm predictions? Do you have enough health/ life/ car/ funeral insurance to allow you to feel calm about it? Are you worried about your credit score or identity theft? Are you terrified that your teeth aren't white enough? Are you concerned that you may not have a personal odor that falls within the range of social acceptability? Are your hemorrhoids causing you to be anxious in public. Do you lack the confidence that you know what to call the new toilet paper, wet wipe combination? Are you jonesing for the latest kitchen gadget, easy weight loss/ hair removal/ light your darkest corner appliance/ bed billow or back pain relief offering? And, to top it off, are you living in terror that you might miss the program being advertised on the screen, in the middle of the one you are trying to watch at the moment?

If you feel any discomfort about any or all of the above, if you can think of some I haven't mentioned then you are a victim of advertising manipulation.

OK then, how do they do it? How do they get you to sucked into these things? They start with the program you are watching, yes, even the good ones, the informative and educational ones. The programs use frequencies that put you into a light hypnotic state that keep you watching until the next advertising break. The commercial amps up the rhythms, sounds and colors to “wake you up” and get your attention. The people in the ads use the tone of voice and speech rhythms appropriate to the product to lull you, or excite you or scare you into having an emotional reaction to the product. There you are, hooked and ready to run down the road for that burger or what ever it was that caught your attention. So what do you do to become an advertising survivor?

The easy answer is to turn off the television or radio but there are other methods assaulting you from all directions. The article “Children, Adolescents, and Advertising” from the American Academy of Pediatrics says: "The average young person views more than 3000 ads per day on television (TV), on the Internet, on billboards, and in magazines" and it gives the source as : Goodman E. Ads pollute most everything in sight. Albuquerque Journal. June 27, 1999:C3. I am not trying to scare you but you should be in the “concerned” category by now. So what can you do? I feel that the overall answer is to become aware.

Pay attention to what your environment is holding and presenting to you. Look away, don't read something just because it is in front of your eyes. Know how color and sound affect you. Enlighten yourself so that you have confidence in your own opinion of what is right FOR YOU. Do a bit of research before you buy and teach your children awareness of these tools of manipulation. Explain it to them, they are children, yes. They want stuff, yes. But with a little thoughtful communication on your part, they will understand and grow into an enlightened consumer and you have helped yourself in the same direction.

To help you out, here is some information about color to show you what I mean;

Black
Black is the color of authority and power. Judges and security people wear black as a symbol of authority. It is a popular color in the fashion world because it makes people appear thinner. It is also  timeless. Black also shows submission. Priests and nuns wear black or dark brown to symbolize   submission to God. Black outfits can also be overpowering, or make the wearer appear aloof or evil. MUSIC: with “dark and depressing” rhythms carry those frequencies too. You can entrain with them and begin to feel morose and sad.

White
In some cultures, brides wear white to symbolize innocence and purity. In other cultures, white is worn by mourners to symbolize death. White reflects the entire spectrum light and is considered cool so is thought of a summer color. White is popular in decorating and in fashion because it is light, neutral, and goes with everything. It  shows dirt easily and is therefore more difficult to keep clean than other colors but doctors and nurses wear white to imply sterility because the color “feels” clean to the observer.

Red; the longest, slowest visible frequency in the human spectrum of sight.
It is one of the most emotionally intense colors and stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also considered to be the color of love. Red clothing can make the person look heavier. Since it is a confrontational color, red clothing might not be helpful to wear in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. They are usually insured higher because the driver is considered to be a bit more aggressive because red cars are involved in more wrecks. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent color.  Red, orange and bright yellow are often used in restaurant decorating schemes because it is an appetite stimulant. (you will notice that they play fast music in there to get you in and out fast) (Slower music is used with soothing colors in grocery stores and department stores to keep you there and shopping)

Blue
Is the color of the sky and sea and is one of the most popular colors. The peacefulness, tranquility of blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms, Dr.s offices and clinics. Blue can also feel cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. People are more productive in blue rooms. Studies show people can accomplish great things in blue rooms such as weightlifters being able to handle heavier weights in blue gyms. FYI; While blue is one of the most popular colors it is one of the least appetizing. Blue food is not readily found in nature and researchers say that when humans searched for food, they learned to avoid toxic or spoiled objects, which were often blue, black, or purple. When food dyed blue or green (something that is not supposed to be green, such eggs and ham)  is served to people, they will lose their appetite.

Green
Currently the most popular decorating color, green makes you think of nature. It is the easiest color on the eye and can improve vision. It is a calming, refreshing color. People waiting to appear on TV sit in "green rooms" to relax. Hospitals often use green because it relaxes patients. In the Middle Ages, brides wore green to symbolize fertility. Dark green is masculine, conservative, and implies wealth. Green is not used in packaging meat products because it puts people off.

Yellow
Sunny yellow is a cheerful eye catcher. Even though it is considered an optimistic color, it causes people to lose their tempers more often and makes babies cry more. It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in so if it is too prevalent, it will overpower the observer. A yellow house will sell faster that on of another color. It also enhances concentration, that is why it is used for legal pads. It also speeds metabolism and some studies have shown that it lightens depression.

Purple
The color of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication, wisdom and creativity.  The color uplifts spirits, calms the mind, and relaxes the nerves. Also been known to affect stimulation of the brain in problem solving. Some say it aids in healing.

Brown
Brown is the color of earth and its solidity. Light brown implies genuineness while dark brown is similar gives the feeling of stability and support.  Brown can also be sad and wistful. Men are more prone to say brown is one of their favorite colors.

We use color, rhythm and frequency all day in our personal lives without recognizing that we do it, it is how we communicate, make decisions and choices. However, when you find yourself doing,  purchasing or eating something and  you realize you aren't sure why you are doing, buying or eating it, ask yourself what ads have you recently been subjected to. Take stock of your surroundings, what color is the room? Is there music playing and if so, what kind? It there an ad playing where you can hear it?Awareness goes a long way in getting your own power back and being enabling you to keep your center as you lead a more productive, power-filled, aware and focused life.

TODAY

TODAY
Musings of Chessie on a very odd sensation of my life © October 1, 2010

Today feels odd and strange to me

as I wander aimlessly…not so, but feels it, so detached.

Like a wraith I float through

the daily things I need to do,

not without connection, nor

without purpose, but,

seemingly without anchor of body to hold me;

to keep me here, to enclose my mind.

Should I drift off I’m not sure any one would notice that I’m not here.

At this point I can not tell if I am really here as well.

YOU WILL LOVE YOU WHEN?

My husband and I were reminiscing about life in general a few weeks ago. We started with childhood and remembered all the way up to our current relationship. As we talked I was taken with the patterns that evolved throughout our lives that were so very similar. We both grew up in military families and there was some favoritism for our siblings from the parents. We both had the “changing schools and being left behind” issues  that most, if not all military children are familiar with. The ways we overcame some of our 'stuff' was the same or close to it. We have both had the same faith revelations over the years and we have decided that we have done fairly well in our evolution.

The thing that I found fascinating was the fact that we have seen each other in our worse situations and still love each other despite that. I commented to him about this aspect of life and he replied, “When we are at our worse is when we need each other the most.” I have to say that this relationship is one I never saw coming and had only read about. I won't say we read each others minds but rarely do we need interpretation. Our comfort level is astounding. Neither of us has anything to prove and we answer each other with complete honesty. I have heard that complete honesty is not doable but I so do not agree anymore.

Cross words are rarely, if ever spoken and comfortable silence is just that, comfortable. We don't have the need to talk unless there is something of merit to say. We laugh a lot and often and unconditional love, understanding, tolerance, open communication and music are the ties that bind.

Waiting for someone to come along while being comfortable in your own skin is not the easiest of endeavors but well worth the effort. On the other hand finding someone that you feel you can change to meet your needs is completely counterproductive and not worthy of you. The only person you can change is you. Attempting to change another is much like trying to push a rope, don't waste your time and energy.

All happiness comes from within YOU, all change comes from within YOU, all love comes from within YOU, all peace comes from within YOU. So when will you choose to love...YOU?

WHAT CAN YOU LEARN FROM THIS? IT IS YOUR NEXT BEST THING!

Cancer. Oh My God, You might have cancer! FEAR! ANXIETY! STRESS! How will you tell the family? Wait! Stop! You don't know anything definite yet, you need to wait for the Dr to call you back. Fear! The fear is overwhelming, you can't breath, you can't think, you can't feel anything but the crippling fear. What are you going to do?

A few years ago this was my life. The waiting was awful, I thought they would never call. I also knew that my habitual thoughts would strongly impact my condition and it's outcome and so I MUST STOP the fear. Stop the thought process that was creating it so the chemicals it was producing would stop. I needed calming, healing chemicals, not the other ones.

So here it is, a big scary ugly thing on your path and you have to walk it alone. You may have support around you but what is going on in your head is all you, what do you do? This is what I did and why it worked.

I decided that if it was the dreaded disease, it was just my next “best thing” and, if I didn't have it. It was also just my next “best thing”. Once I made that decision, the fear diminished drastically and soon subsided all together.. I know, you think I'm nuts but here is how it works and why it is a good idea.

Your body and mind eavesdrop on each other all the time. They use things called neuropeptides to do this. Neuropeptides are small protein-like molecules used by your neurons to communicate with each  other. When you think a thought, these little communication devises jump into action and broadcast the thought out to your entire body. For instance, have you ever seen a thing you thought was dangerous and before you realized it you were running away from it? When you calmed down and went back to look closer you found it was a just a shadow or a fuzzy or the garden hose? That is the speed and intensity this communication has. Now, not only is it fast but other things are going on at the same time. Because of you thought “yikes a snake!” the chemicals that amp you up to run for safety shoot out in just the right dose to rapidly move you from point A to point B. They affect your heart, breathing muscles  and blood flow. Your eyes will show more white and you may let out a yelp of fear. All of this is caused by the thought that there is a snake. When you realize that is only the garden hose, everything is reversed.

Let's face it fear is fear, snake or cancer. When you see the thing as big and ugly and threatening, you body sends the chemicals to feed that thought, that belief and, sure enough that is what happens. When you can calm that down and send the chemicals that will make it smaller and less frightening, that is what you will get.  By detaching from the outcome of the testing, and not allowing fear to drive my thoughts, I was able to create a calmer, more healthy mind-stream.

The detachment I am talking about doesn't mean that you don't care, it just deciding where you want your thoughts and energies to go, what you want them to nourish. You CHOOSE what you want to feed, the fear or the wellness. By seeing your situation, any situation as your 'next best thing' you create a position that puts you into a positive oriented mind set that will allow your best outcome no matter what. Feed your body's positivity and it will flourish. The chemicals that bring assistance and strength to you will flood your system, thereby raising you above the fear line and into a more healing place from which to work.  Bright Blessings, Chessie

DO YOU LIVE ABOVE THE FEAR LINE?

Do you know what the opposite of love is? It is fear. All of your feelings of dis-ease are spawned from fear. The anxiety, the apprehension, the anger, the hate, all the mean, nasty, ugly feelings that you can think up are from below the fear line. They vibrate at low levels and will eventually make you ill in body, mind and spirit.

Love is on the other end of this spectrum. All feelings of wholeness, bliss, joy and happiness and the bright, shiny, wonderful feelings you can call up, all come from ABOVE the fear line. They vibrate at higher frequencies and will heal you, raise you and make you whole.

Your emotions directly and always affect your biology, your energetic and spiritual bodies because of their vibrational levels and because of the chemicals they cause your biology to release. When you think a thought from either end of the spectrum, your body has an emotional reaction to it, whether you recognize it or not and, your body responds in kind. This consistent mind-stream™  will determine what the Universe hears and how it responds to your desires. It will also determine how you feel, who you attract and what kind of day you experience.

As you continue to hold your habitual thought process you create your life, your world and you tell the universe who and what you want around you. If you are operating from below the fear line you will find that things do not work well for you. You are ill in either your body or your mind and your spirit will follow. The people you find around you are whiny and mean, always without strength and they are draining to you.

Above the fear line, from the love end of the spectrum, you find life pleasant, loving and joy-filled. Your body feels better and your outlook is bright. Pay attention to your thoughts and where they are coming from. Make a conscious, aware decision to raise your vibrations and to live above the fear line.
Bright Blessings, Chessie

PAIN, YOUR MIND AND HOW IT WORKS

Many of you have aches and pains and a lot of people live with chronic, sometimes crippling pain. What is pain? The dictionary defines it as physical suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury. As you grow from a child to an adult you learned that if you arm hurts, you treated your arm, you stomach or whatever body part that you felt was the problem. Please understand that yes, pain is real and there to let you know that something is wrong but that is not the pain I am referring to. This article is discussing chronic pains like the ones you have with any chronic issue, like arthritis, crohn's, fibromyalgia ...that sort.

The truth is that, even though you are injured or ill, your pain signal is just that, a signal. It is sent to your mind and that is what gets your attention. This is not a new idea. It has been used for centuries and it works quite nicely. If you have tried pills and potions and found them unsatisfactory, finding what you need right inside your brain just may be quite helpful for you.

You have several levels of pain response; mental, emotional and physical. OK, you have an injury. It sends signals up your sensory path that will give you a physical sensation. You may tense up against that and “push against' the pain. The second path takes the information to the areas of your brain that process emotion. (amygdala and the anterior cingulate cortex) So you feel upset and may cry, shake or have other emotional reactions. So there you have it, you are having two reactions to your injury, one emotional and one physical. If you can calm both of these reactions your pain will diminish.

The first technique to learn is to relax into the pain. As you consciously relax the area that is troubling you, the pain decreases. Take having an injection for example. If you tense the muscle the needle is to pierce, the added resistance will  create a denser wall to penetrate. If, however, you relax the area, there is less resistance. Same with any other pain. When you tense the affected area you create resistance and, like the Law of Attraction says, “what you resist persists” the same is true for pain.

The next thought to wrap your head around is that the pain is not where you think it is. It is being processed in your brain. If you can realize this, you will find that the pain diminishes rapidly. As you consider that you can choose to let go of the thought of pain, it will go down more or disappear completely.

All of you have your very own pharmacy that knows just what your body requires and what doses are perfect for you. A lot of the synthetic medicines on the market have a disruptive effect on you inner pharmacy so you will have to retrain it to work properly if you have been on one of these regimens. IF YOU ARE ON A MEDICATION UNDER A DOCTORS CARE, DO NOT STOP IN FAVOR OF THIS INFORMATION. You can use this information to get better results from your medication. As you take your medication just keep in mind how it works (research it if you don't already know and then you can make an informed choice about your own health care) and allow your body and mind to work with the medication to it's best affect.

Meditation is the best way (with these new thoughts to guide you) to calm and train your mind and get it to let go of the idea of pain. Research (at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center) has been done on this topic and has found from scans of brains while people meditated, at the end of their meditations, the pain centers were calmer and the persons pain had been reduced by 11 to 93%. Meditation showed a higher pain relief than some of the more powerful pain relieving medications.

Relax into the pain and remember that it is your mind creating sensations and you may be surprised how much better you handle it all. Bright Blessings, Chessie

YOU ARE NOT SUPERMAN/WOMAN AND THAT'S OK

In the western culture we are taught to hurry and do everything perfectly, do it fast, do it better than the person next to you and better than you did yesterday, don't stop, don't ask, don't tell, be on call to work on your days off, put your health and your family last, if you do take a break make it a short one AND do all of this while being watched, evaluated, judged, followed...oh yes, smile and keep a great attitude. It is worse if you are a work from home person because you have the house, laundry and food to stretch yourself thinner and you do this to yourself.

Stressed much? Let's break this down a bit. At work you are under a microscope most of the time so you do have to be aware of the judgment factor BUT, you do not have to put your self in competition with others (yes they say you do but you don't) Truth is you are your only competitor. Do you feel you are good at what you do? Yes, then great, keep your edge by researching new information about your field, devise a better flow that works for you, be present in your now as you work, do not concern yourself with the company drama, be the best you that you can. If your answer is no then look to see why you aren't good at what you do. Are you doing something you don't like? (this is the number one reason) Well if you don't like what you are doing, change it, do something else. If nothing is there at the moment then begin looking else where, knowing that there is something better on your horizon will make the icky stuff not so bad. Now don't go rushing off in all directions, ask yourself what do you really love to do then start looking in that direction. Then, while you are still where you don't want to be, by researching new information about your field, you may find a new direction that you would like to pursue. You may also be able to devise a better flow that works for you. Be present in your now as you work. Do not concern yourself with the company drama and be the best you that you can be.

Don't be afraid to take breaks. The law says you are supposed to have 15 minutes of break time for every ____ hours you work. Some do not take them but you should. Really break when you do. Decide consciously that you are OFF WORK for those few minutes. Don't take your work with you on your break, it will be there when you get back. Go outside/leave the building for some fresh air, do a quick meditation. Drink a healthy drink, ground yourself, read an uplifting passage or two.

If you are a work at home person, do the same thing. Take breaks. Work a little, clean a little, read a little, meditate a little. Find your flow and use it, timers are great for this. Make you a doable schedule that fits your day. Don't feel that every day must be the same schedule, be flexible. If you must do laundry on Tuesday, work around it. Since laundry is not an issue on Wednesday, your schedule will be different and that is OK.

Take a day off and when you're off, be totally off. Don't use the time to grind on what went wrong that week or to anticipate worse in the week to come. Be in you now and ENJOY it! Allow yourself to  let the work thoughts go. Yes, you CAN do it, if you choose to. You are an awesome creator of your life. You just must decide how much stress, aggravation and negativity you truly want to endure. If you chose none, then get on that and make it happen. Superman/woman, sure! Just slow down and make it so. Bright Blessings, Chessie

PLASTIC PEOPLE

The first plastic was created by Alexander Parkes in1862. He presented his invention at the Great International Exhibition in London. The substance was called  Parkesine. It was an organic material that came from cellulose could be heated, molded, shaped and would keep its shape after it cooled.

In the 1950's plastics became an inexpensive substitute for many things; drinking glasses, tableware, vases, bowls, storage containers of all sorts and shapes. A cheap, shiny substitute for a more substantial and better quality thing.  Seeing the disappointment on some of the faces in the stores when they thought they had found a beautiful glass bowl at a great price only to find it was plastic gave me to believe that this was not a fashionable substance to own.

In the 60s, plastic again reared it's unfashionable head but with a new take. This time it referred to people. The cheap, shiny substitute for a more substantial and better quality person. You know the ones, those who are so self absorbed to notice that there are others in the world. Those that care for “what they look like to others”, what shows on the outside with no regard for what is on the inside where it counts. The users, the fakers, those with no spiritual quality or core values.

Now understand that we all must grow through this plastic part of life and most do but there are those who never figure this out. When you tailor your persona to suit a perceived situation, you do yourself a disservice. You are hiding your true Self, not only from those around you but from your self. This creates and internal dichotomy within your emotional and energetic self that is akin to lying. This will cause you to become ill on some level. If done long enough, you will suffer and not understand why.

Dr Phil said ,”The tip for today has to do with your feelings from the inside out. One of the problems that compromises our self-esteem is that we tend to make the mistake of comparing our personal reality with everyone else's social mask. Of course, they're putting their best foot forward. Of course, they are shielding from you their flaws and fallacies. It doesn't mean they don't have them. And if you make that comparison of your reality with their social mask, you're going to lose every time.”

This is very good advice. People have the tenancy to forget that “things and people are not what they seem.” understand that EVERYONE'S life has ups and downs whether we see them or not. You can not live your life according to what you think you see in others. Plastic people are always behind a mask, always showing only pretty, shiny, substitutes of themselves.

Understand that I am speaking of a persona, not the true person. If you meet someone who is exactly what they appear to be; happy, filled with joy and love, caring, you will know because you will feel it. If they are putting up a facade, you will feel that too.

To be plastic is, in actually, to lie, both to yourself and those around you. This will adversely affect you and you health. Studies have shown that all that fibbing can lead to headaches, sore throats, and feeling sad and stressed. Begin to notice the coloration between what you are projecting and how you feel, this can be a litmus test for you to know how truthful you really are.

When you reach the time in your life where you can be the real you without shame, guilt or judgment, you will find that you can allow others to be who/what they are and life will shine...like sun through crystal. Bright Blessings, Chessie

BELIEF COMES BEFORE THE MIRACLE

Having  faith first and then seeing the miracle after the event is a story older than time. In the bible we are told that Abraham was to sacrifice his child and was given a ram to kill at the last minute instead of his son. His faith had him ready to do as he was asked by God, the miracle of the ram came after. In the same vane, there were no clouds visible when Noah took up his ax to start work on the ark. There are miraculous happenings in all of the books of faith. You may have even seen a few yourself.

If you have seen or felt something of a miraculous nature, you know that before it happened you truly had belief in its ability to manifest. The truth of the matter is that faith and doubt cannot exist in the same mind at the same time, because one will cancel out the other sort of like one sound wave will cancel out another.

Faith is your confidence and trust in someone or something. It is not based on proof. Rather than fact, it is based on your intuition, feeling, and faith. This is a sixth chakra event. At this level your faith is based on intuition and inner knowing/feeling. This can encompass just about anything from a new found core value to what you feel as sacred. At this level you can allow others their faith in whatever they have faith in.

A miracle is something that surpasses all known/understood human events. And the truth of the matter is that if you do not have faith that it can happen, it will not occur for you.  Miracles are as mundane and everyday as your flower garden and as awesome as the birth of a child, as large as a life changing epiphany and as small as the smile on child's face. A miracle can be a scientific happening or just the intuitive feeling that something is about to happen. But, no matter the source of the event, your belief in the miraculousness of it creates your miracle. You can see them in the changes of the seasons, in the togetherness of friends, the ability to grow into unconditional love, they are all around you. All you need to do is believe.

TOLERANCE, JUDGMENT, ACCEPTANCE OR LOVE

I seem to notice a lot of labeling and judgment swirling around lately. This person judges something or someone as not worthy of tolerance and the next person must express their judgment over the first persons lack of tolerance and judge them on that perceived lack. Then the two argue about it until the third party decides to judge them both and it starts all over again. Shakespeare said it best in his play Macbeth “Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.” what is the point in attempting to force someone to change a belief or feeling that is really none of your business in the first place?

One of the things I have learned from being on Facebook is that just because one CAN say something, it dose not follow that one SHOULD say it. Just because it CAN be said it doesn’t follow that it SHOULD be heard. We get bad news all of the time. That does not mean we should add our energy to the more horrific actions of the perpetrator or the event.

The media likes to keep drama in front of us, the public. The news is full of it and the worse it is, the more times they rehash it, repeating all the ugliness until the entire nation is ill (the 9/11 reports for one) the “game” shows are full of it. The more hate-filled the people on the show are, the higher the ratings. Everything is a competition, even the lowly cupcake is now at 'war'. Take the show “Survivor” for instance, in some parts of the world that is an everyday struggle and we watch it for entertainment? There are shows with children acting out because they lost, brides being nasty to those helping them. Is this really what you want in your life?

Tolerance and acceptance are being bandied about a lot now but I am not sure they are being used in their proper context. Or if anyone truly cares about what the words mean. So I define them for you here.

Tolerance
1) a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one's own; freedom from bigotry.
2.) a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward opinions and practices that differ from one's own.
3.) interest in and concern for ideas, opinions, practices, etc., foreign to one's own; a liberal, not/un-dogmatic viewpoint.
4.) the act or capacity of enduring; endurance.

Acceptance
1.) the act of taking or receiving something offered.
2.) favorable reception; approval; favor.
3.) the act of assenting or believing: acceptance of a theory.
4.) the fact or state of being accepted or acceptable.

If you can tolerate and accept without;
Judgment
1.) an act or instance of judging.
2.) the ability to judge, make a decision, or form an opinion objectively, authoritatively, and wisely, especially in matters affecting action; good sense; discretion: a man of sound judgment.
3.) the demonstration or exercise of such ability or capacity: The major was decorated for the judgment he showed under fire.
4.) the forming of an opinion, estimate, notion, or conclusion, as from circumstances presented to the mind: Our judgment as to the cause of his failure must rest on the evidence.
5.) the opinion formed: He regretted his hasty judgment.

You can find;
Unconditional love
1) affection with no limits or conditions; complete love.
Notice it has only one definition? Isn't this what we all truly want? When we have so many other important things to spend our energy on; things such as family, love, positivity and grace. Don't you think it's time to do that? Look for goodness, spread tolerance and acceptance? If everyone would put their energy in those directions I just know that the horrors would stop.

So to that end,  “May the entire Universe be filled with Peace and Joy, Love and Light. May the light of Truth overcome all darkness! Victory to that Light! Jai!” Bright Blessings, Chessie

How Do I Love Unconditionally?

1) Change your way of thinking about love, see it as an action rather than a feeling. If you see love as an action, you are rewarded when you feel a certain way based on the way you acted. Because this an action that you choose to take, you can repeat it anytime you wish. You are depending on self, not someone else.

2) Realize that what is a loving act toward one person, may not be so for another. So pay attention to what your best course of action is for the person in front of you. Each person is different so, conversely, your action(s) will be too. For instance; the saying “Hope you're hungry.” can be a friendly invitation to a meal. But under different circumstances can be a very cruel taunt.

3) Sometimes, out of this love with no conditions, you will have to step out of your comfort zone in order to help the other person step out of theirs. We can not stave off discomfort and or pain always. Comfort and love are entirely two different things, one is not predicated upon the other so that we may evolve as human beings.

4) Because of the “un” prefix, you must give this love without expectation nor can you pick and chose to whom or what you extend your unconditional actions or affection. Because this is not a one size fits all kind of thing, you will have to step back and decide first what is best for you. You can't be in a space of love if you are out sync with your own core values.

5) Now here is the one that will make you think I have lost my mind...forgive. Forgive them, the event and yourself. Forgiveness is not something we do, it is something we are. I don't mean be a door mat, I mean not holding on to those black thoughts and feelings that will obscure you ability to love.

6) Last, wake up and pay attention to how you feel. The feeling of unconditional love will lift you to heights you never thought possible, it will never leave you feeling down, drained or upset. The more you practice all of this the easier it becomes and the longer it lasts. Remember it is an experiential process...you have to do it to experience it....to experience it is to desire to share it! Namaste, Chessie

PRAY, WISH, MAGIC

PRAY, WISH, MAGIC

In my studies I have run into debates over what is more acceptable, to pray, wish or to use magic. I ask why do we need to choose? I feel that they are really all one and the same. I think this because we are told by sage and prophet alike that all is one, separation is an illusion.

Let's look at the semantics for just a moment.
We'll start with the word “Wish” meaning to “Feel or express a strong desire or hope for something that is not easily attainable; want something that cannot or probably will not happen. A desire or hope for something to happen. Request.
Next is Prayer, prayer A solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship. An expectation of supernatural intervention by a deity.
Now; Magic; The power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces.
Last; Supernatural; of, pertaining to, characteristic of, or attributed to God or a deity. direct influence or action of a deity on earthly affairs.

Now let's examine the path; Wish= Request, Request=prayer, Prayer =supernatural intervention by a deity, Supernatural=direct influence or action of a deity on earthly affairs.

So I have to ask, why spend time, energy and judgment attempting to decide the “best or more correct” when all is one?

JUDGMENT AND LOVE

JUDGMENT AND LOVE

Nature does not judge. The bear does not judge the tiger. The tiger does not judge the fish. The mountain does not judge the water. The rain does not judge the tree. The plants do not judge the earth and the earth does not judge humanity. But...humanity judges every thing; Pants, animals, water, weather and sadly each other.

At the level of our fourth chakra we should come into the mature love, the love for the sake of love. Love that allows things and people to just be. Love that does not judge or manipulate, love that just is. It doesn’t judge ones faith or sexual orientation or clothing or caste or job or anything it just allows. It a love that lifts up, heals, raises the one who feels it to heights unknown before. It is a love that delights in the happiness and success or others. It  creates joy and opportunities for joy. It does not bring sorrow or pain, it loves only love for it's only gain.

Love is the magic component of the Universe. Love is the goal, love is the answer love is...everything worth having. May you find, embrace and share this love. Namaste Chessie

This weeks blog is from a wonderful person with an attitude that needs to be shared. Thank you Katy West!

The Benefits of Criticism: from  Katy West on January 11, 2012  Group of 1

Personal Growth
1.Looking for seeds of truth in criticism encourages humility. It’s not easy to take an honest look at yourself and your weaknesses, but you can only grow if you’re willing to try.
2.Learning from criticism allows you to improve.  Almost every critique gives you a tool to more effectively create the tomorrow you visualize.
3.Criticism opens you up to new perspectives and new ideas you may not have considered. Whenever someone challenges you, they help expand your thinking.
4.Your critics give you an opportunity to practice active listening. This means you resist the urge to analyze in your head, planning your rebuttal, and simply consider what the other person is saying.
5.You have the chance to practice forgiveness when you come up against harsh critics. Most of us carry around stress and frustration that we unintentionally misdirect from time to time.

Emotional Benefits
6.It’s helpful to learn how to sit with the discomfort of an initial emotional reaction instead of immediately acting or retaliating. All too often we want to do something with our feelings—generally not a great idea!
7.Criticism gives you the chance to foster problem solving skills, which isn’t always easy when you’re feeling sensitive, self-critical, or annoyed with your critic.
8.Receiving criticism that hits a sensitive spot helps you explore unresolved issues. Maybe you’re sensitive about your intelligence because you’re holding onto something someone said to you years ago—something you need to release.
9.Interpreting someone else's feedback is an opportunity for rational thinking—sometimes, despite a negative tone, criticism is incredibly useful.
10.Criticism encourages you to question your instinctive associations and feelings; praise is good, criticism is bad. If we recondition ourselves to see things in less black and white terms, there’s no stop to how far we can go!

Improved Relationships
11.Criticism presents an opportunity to choose peace over conflict. Often times, when criticized our instinct is to fight, creating unnecessary drama. The people around us generally want to help us, not judge us.
12.Fielding criticism well helps you mitigate the need to be right. Nothing closes an open mind like ego—bad for your personal growth, and damaging for relationships.
13.Your critics give you an opportunity to challenge any people-pleasing tendencies. Relationships based on a constant need for approval can be draining for everyone involved. It’s liberating to let people think whatever they want—they’re going to do it anyway.
14.Criticism gives you the chance to teach people how to treat you. If someone delivers it poorly, you can take this opportunity to tell them, “I think you make some valid points, but I would receive them better if you didn’t raise your voice.”
15.Certain pieces of criticism teach you not to sweat the small stuff. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter that your boyfriend thinks you load the dishwasher “wrong.”

Time Efficiency
16.The more time you spend dwelling about what someone said, the less time you have to do something with it.
17.If you improve how you operate after receiving criticism, this will save time and energy in the future. When you think about from that perspective—criticism as a time saver—it’s hard not to appreciate it!
18. Fostering the ability to let go of your feelings and thoughts about being critiqued can help you let go in other areas of your life. Letting go of worries, regrets, stresses, fears, and even positive feelings helps you root yourself in the present moment. Mindfulness is always the most efficient use of time.
19.Criticism reinforces the power of personal space. Taking 10 minutes to process your emotions, perhaps by writing in a journal, will ensure you respond well. And responding the well the first time prevents one critical comment from dominating your day.
20. In some cases, criticism teaches you how to interact with a person, if they’re negative or hostile, for example. Knowing this can save you a lot of time and stress in the future.

Self Confidence
21.Learning to receive false criticism—feedback that has no constructive value—without losing your confidence is a must if you want to do big things in life. The more attention your work receives, the more criticism you’ll have to field.
22. When someone criticizes you, it shines a light on your own insecurities. If you secretly agree that you’re lazy, you should get to the root of that. Why do you believe that—and what can you do about it?
23.Learning to move forward after criticism, even if you don’t feel incredibly confident, ensures no isolated comment prevents you from seizing your dreams. Think of it as separating the wheat from the chaff; takes what’s useful, leave the rest, and keep going!
24. When someone else appraises you harshly, you have an opportunity to monitor your internal self-talk'  Research indicates up to 80% of our thoughts are negative. Take this opportunity to monitor and change your thought processes so you don’t drain and sabotage yourself!

 “May the entire Universe be filled with Peace and Joy, Love and Light. May the light of Truth overcome all darkness! Victory to that Light! Jai!” Bright Blessings to you all, Chessie
